Fall Ozark Society Gathering Recap
The Ozark Society held its Fall Membership Meeting the weekend of November 7-9 in Bentonville, Arkansas. Sugar Creek hosted the event and did a great job! A big Thank You to Lowell Collins and her amazing crew! Bayou Chapter was represented by Sandy Roerig, Catherine Tolson, Marian Howard, Stephen Poss and Steve, Grace and Louie Eyler.
The Ozark Society Board meeting took place Friday night. Saturday morning we had the option of two hikes and a bike ride. The temperature was pleasant and leaf color in the Bentonville area was at its peak so everywhere we looked, we saw amazing shades of red, orange, yellow, purple and brown. We toured the Compton Gardens in the afternoon, then had a meeting and wonderful taco supper that evening prepared by Sugar Creek. After dark, many of us went to the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art "Time Loop" light show.
The temperature dropped overnight and with the wind we were looking at a wind chill of 32 degrees! After a leisurely breakfast, most of the Louisiana crew opted to head home. Again, thanks to Lowell Collins and Sugar Creek for a job well done!!
