Last Sunday May 31st, 7 folks came together to clear the paddle trail from Rt 162 boat launch on Cypress Lake north to the bird nesting area.  This work included trimming low limbs and sawing larger trees blocking the paddle trail. The evening paddle was amazing for the wildlife spotted as we worked.  Beavers, nutria, armadillos, a deer and 3 or 4 gators and one snake.  Also many herons and white egrets were observed at the "bird" trees as we have named them.

Thanks to the six BCOS members and one guest that worked in the heat to make this trail very passable now.  Orange tapes in the trees mark the entrance to the bayou. These are found about 4 tenths of a mile from the Rt 162 bridge. They bare to the right after the stand of tall dead trees in the channel.
