Visit Webster Fall Dorcheat Paddle
About 3 dozen paddlers (14 of whom were Bayou Chapter members) met at the Webster Parish Boat Launch in Sibley this morning to paddle Bayou Dorcheat. After a brief safety meeting, we launched at 9:00 am and paddled downstream toward Lake Bistineau past towering cypress trees and sandy beaches. We then returned to the boat launch where Visit Webster Parish treated participants to a delicious fish fry and live music.
Paddlers traveled between 3-6 miles depending on inclination. Our age ranges were from 8 to 87. The weather was nice and cool with a slight breeze - the calm before the storms coming in this afternoon. It was a great paddle with old friends and new friends Thanks to Seafood Empire for the great food. It was a great event!
