It's that time of year when we as a unit are in demand . Just got off the phone with Sam Bennet from the Sunrise Triathlon Club . On  Sunday July 9th  there will be a race . Our assistance as safety boats would be a GREAT help . We are known as the  " go to group " for safety boats and it would be fantastic if we could continue the tradition . The Sunrise Tri has been changed to a ONE DAY event. Details are as follows DATE: Sunday, July 17th (That is this coming Sunday) TIME(s): Safety Boaters should arrive at 6:30 A.M. Boats in water and at post no later than 7:15 A,M. RACE START – 7:30 A.M. ESTIMATED Race Finish 8:30 A.M. (this should give all Safety Boaters time to get to Sunday Services) LOCATION: SHRINER’S 6230 South Lakeshore Drive (on Cross Lake) Easy to Find. Take S. Lakeshore Drive Off I-220. Proceed toward Cross Lake until the exit road ends at S. Lakeshore Dr. Turn Left on to S. Lakeshore and continue past Ford Park, the public Boat Launch, and the intersection of Pines Road and S. Lakeshore. Continue in a westerly direction past the Pines Road intersection and begin looking for the Shriners facility on YOUR RIGHT. EUREKA!! YOU HAVE FOUND IT Go through the gate and proceed along the left side of the building (they will let you through the roped area) to the boat launch. You will need to get your boat and gear unloaded ASAP in order to be ready to be on the water as indicated above.
