BCOS put another group of WILD children in kayaks again on Thursday June 19, 2025 at Bodcau Bayou. This week's camp theme was Junior Naturalist. Due to high water levels, we had to change our launch point, but the kids still got plenty of paddling time. They tackled currents, trees, spanish moss, wind and a few spiders. The only wildlife we encountered was a dog swimming across the bayou. Kim directed to him to safety, but did not take him home...this time. We created an impromptu obstacle course in the flooded timber which all competitors tackled successfully!
We're happy to collborate with Bodcau Bayou COE, the Walter B Jacob's Memorial Nature Park and Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation on putting paddles instead of screens in kids' hands! Thanks to our 10 volunteers for their patience and tutelage with these young campers.
