Our event calendar is filled with lots of recreation opportunities, but education and conservation are part of our motto too. June is full of volunteer opportunities!
This week we need help for two events.
This Thursday, June 5, we'll be putting summer camp kids in the water at Bodcau Bayou. We will meet at 8:30am at the location below. We have 22 kids arriving at 9am. We will provide some basic water safety instruction, fit PFD's and then put the kids in kayaks and possibly canoes. We need a lead, a sweep, a couple safety boaters and a couple of stern paddlers in the canoes. As an incentive for member volunteers, we have a cool BCOS t-shirt for you. Us having the same shirt shows that we are a cohesive and organized group and presents us in a professional light. This is the first of four events. We will work the kids' camp every Thursday in June. Feel free to help with any one or all! The other kids' camp days are June 12, June 19 and June 26.

*Note this location is NOT the same as our Hunting and Fishing Day location. It is on the opposite (East) side of the dam. It is an in and out paddle on a new paddle trail.
On Saturday, June 7, we are teaming up with Keep Bossier Beautiful at Parish Camp on Lake Bistineau for a water cleanup. After the clean up and lunch with KBB, we'll take a paddle over to Our Place Bar and Grill for a beverage for those so inclined. Should you wish to participate, please follow Trisha's instructions for registration in her previous email.

*Note that this is not the State Park. It is located toward the southern end of Lake Bistineau.
We have over 120 members so I know that we'll have a good group to show up and show out!! Thanks for your help!!!
