About the event
National Wildlife Celebration Day at the Red River National Wildlife Refuge - 10:00 am to 2:00 pm
From Sandy - Hi Everyone!
Just a reminder – this Saturday, October 15 is the Red River National Wildlife Refuge Celebration
Please consider volunteering to help put visitors in kayaks and canoes on Lake Caroline – just like we did at the recent Bodcau Hunting and Fishing Day
We will meet at 9:00 am at the put-in, the beach at the end of the pink trail, on Lake Caroline – you can drive your vehicle down the gravel road to the site
The RRNWR provides canoes, paddles and PFDs
The celebration starts at 10:00 am, so we will need to be ready by that time – the event ends at 2:00 pm
Each volunteer who spends the entire time helping out, will receive a $10 voucher to purchase pizza or tacos from food trucks, and a bottle of water
we will need a couple of safety boats, plus volunteers to help fit PFDs, provide basic paddling instruction, and help people in and out of boats
This is a fun event that BCOS participates in every year – and the RRNWR greatly appreciates our assistance
Hope to see you there!
