Moonlight Paddle - Bayou Dorcheat

Evening/Moonlight Dorcheat Paddle (**event highly dependent on WATER LEVELS so look for updates/check with event leader before coming)

When: Friday 8/16/24 plan to get there by 6:00pm

Dorcheat Bayou Boat Launch (Dixie Inn) · Dixie Inn, LA 71055 Park

Parking/amenities: Meet at the Dorcheat boat ramp in Dixie Inn. There is a port-a-potty at the ramp (or at least there used to be... Can pit stop at the gas station nearby before hand if needed)

Paddle options depend on WATER LEVELS... Option 1 (most likely) we'll do an out and back paddle from Dixie Inn (about 45 mins out/45 mins back) to the sandbar for socializing and eating (I can bring a small grill for hot dogs)  Option 2:  If the group is up for it and the water levels are right is we can do a 6 "ish" mile paddle (2-3 hours) from Dixie Inn to a take out point in Sibley (stopping to play on the sandbar at the halfway point).  If we decide to do that we'll shuttle a few vehicles to the take out in Sibley before launching in Dixie Inn.

What to bring: boat, paddle, PFD, bug spray, chair, cooler, food for grill, snack to share, lights for your boat. And whatever else you want…
