Lincoln Parish Park Hike and Lunch

Parking information: Park/meet at the beach/swimming area
Cost: There is a $3 per person park entrance fee
Facilities: There are bathroom facilities at the beach (where we’re starting/ending the hike)
Duration: Anticipate hiking for around 5 miles (about 2 hours) followed by lunch in downtown Ruston for those that want to join
Difficulty: I would describe these trails as mostly "easy". There are some up/down hills (so "moderate" climbing in parts). These trails are also used for mountain biking so we have to stay alert for oncoming cyclists and move off the trail quickly when they're encountered.
What to bring: The usual... water/snack, good hiking shoes, bug spray. Maybe a hiking stick ...for balance or as a "spider-web swiper", "critter deterrent", etc...
Pets: These trails are dog-friendly (must be leashed; be prepared to pick up after your pet)
Other: Bring a small garbage bag if you're willing to help pick up/carry out any trash we run across from the trails.
