About the event

Community Outreach and Education

BCOS participates in several community events each year. We provide personnel, boats, paddles and PFDs to expose others to the joy of paddling. In the past, we’ve put up to 160 men, women and children in boats at this event so all help is appreciated. We always have such a great group of volunteers!

Additional details regarding exact locations and schedules will be forthcoming.

When:  Saturday Sept 23 8:00am

Where:  Tom Merrill Recreation Area at Bodcau Bayou

Parking/amenities: Parking and launch area TBD

Duration:  Event is 9am – 2pm.

What to bring:  Great attitude! Safety boaters will need all the usual paddle items – PFD, water, snacks. We will also need bank/dock workers to help participants in/out of kayaks and canoes as well as registration workers to sign people in and fit PFDs.

BCOS contact person:  Roy O'Neal at royoneal2@gmail.com or Dick Maxwell at rmax75@icloud.com
