Dorcheat Moonlight Paddle

Reminders about the Dorcheat paddle: It is an out and back.  Note that David will NOT be there with the jon boat and grill.  He is going to Alabama to attend a funeral.  As far as I know the burn bans have not been lifted so I'm not going to risk the wrath of law enforcement by having a fire.  You may if you'd like...

That said we are planning to have paddles in the water at 7:00pm.  We will paddle down to a gravel/sand bar and hang out until 9:00pm or later then head back to the launch point under a bright moon.  I have not pre-paddled this section so be prepared for an adventure.

For those wanting to eat prior to the paddle, we are going to meet at Dorcheat Seafood and Grill - located next to the boat ramp - at 5:30pm.  I have about five RSVP's so I'm not going to reserve a table unless I get a lot more.

Feel free to bring snacks, drinks, bug spray, chairs that fit in your boat, lights to make sure that you are seen and an adventurous attitude.

Dorcheat Moonlight Paddle

When:  Friday 8/12/22 at 7:00pm

Where:  Dixie Inn boat launch by Dorcheat Seafood and Grill

Parking/amenities: Meet at the boat ramp.  There is a port-a-potty at the ramp.

Duration:  Anticipate a 45 minute paddle to the sandbar.  Several hours of socializing and bon fire (burn ban permitting).  Then we’ll paddle back to the boat ramp.

What to bring:  boat, paddle, PFD, bug spray, chair, cooler, food for grill, snack to share, lights for your boat. And whatever else you want…

Pre-paddle option: Meet at Dorcheat Seafood and Grill for dinner/appetizer/drink at 5:30pm.  Please RSVP so I can reserve a table.
