CANCELLED - Lake D'arbonne Hike

THIS HIKE HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO PREDICTED WEATHER

When:  Saturday, February 26 - 10 am

Where:  Lake D'Arbonne State Park - 3628 Evergreen Rd. Farmerville, LA-   https://goo.gl/maps/eBCG4PfaFcB3PoRJ6

Cost:  There is a $3 per person park entrance fee

Parking:  Park/meet at the BOAT LAUNCH

Facilities: There are bathroom facilities at the boat launch (where we’re starting/ending the hike)

Duration:  Anticipate hiking for about 2 hours followed by picnic lunch.

Difficulty:   I would describe these trails as mostly "easy".  There are few up/down hills (so maybe "moderate" in parts).    Occasionally some muddy areas near the lake's edge to navigate through (we'll try to avoid those if possible).   Have had a few times to climb over or work around a downed tree (which I think makes hiking exciting!).  Some really pretty trails here and I've seen deer many times during stays at this park!

What to bring:  Be sure to bring water, wear good hiking shoes, wear bug spray and pack a picnic lunch.  Maybe a hiking stick ...for balance or as a "spider-web swiper", "critter deterrent", etc...

Pets:  These trails are dog-friendly (must be leashed;  be prepared to pick up after your pet)

Other:  Bring a small garbage bag if you're willing to help pick up/carry out any trash we run across from the trails.
