Join us for a FUN few days of kayaking/canoeing, hiking and exploring in the absolutely breathtaking Buffalo River/Ponca, AR area!! We're looking forward to celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Buffalo National River!!

About the event

**This is a BCOS MEMBERS event... Not a member yet but want to participate??  Joining the Ozark Society is inexpensive and easy!  Visit https://www.ozarksociety.net/ and click on JOIN US.  Once you're a member, you'll just need to create an account on this bayouchapter.com site to gain access to the members only event details, forum discussions, etc!!  See the BLOG POST titled "How to Sign Up!" for more info!!

Tentative Schedule:

Tuesday, April 26th - travel to/arrive in the Jasper/Ponca area;  some hiking planned for this day in/around Jasper to potentially include some combination of Pedestal Rock/King's Bluff (2.5 miles), Alum Cove (1 mile), Fern Falls (1.5 miles), Sam's Throne (0.5 miles), Round Top Mountain Trail (3.5 miles);  meal at Cliff House Inn (overlooking Arkansas Grand Canyon) and/or Ozark Cafe.

Wednesday, April 27th - hiking in/around and just north of the Ponca area to potentially include some combination of Lost Valley/Eden Falls (2.2 miles), Triple Falls (0.5 miles), Hideout Hollow (2 miles);  meal at Low Gap Cafe and/or Buffalo Outdoor Center.

Thursday, April 28th - Kayaking Buffalo River potentially on this day.

Friday, April 29th - more hiking/exploring the trails south of Ponca to potentially include some combination of Whitaker Point/Hawksbill Crag (3 miles), Sweden Creek (2 miles), and Glory Hole (2 miles)

Saturday, April 30th - leave/travel home

Lodging - for the Buffalo River/Ponca portion of the trip - there are options for tent camping (Steel Creek for example) or reserving a cabin/house in the Ponca area.  Follow and participate in Forum Discussion for continued/updated conversation about lodging options.
