About the event
Paddle to the iconic Eagle's Nest at the Black Bayou National Wildlife Management Area in Monroe LA. It's always great to see these majestic birds.
This is a 5.1 mile out and back paddle. A portion of this paddle is in open water, inexperienced paddlers should avoid paddling this trail if winds are 10 mph or higher as the water may get rough and choppy. Always be aware of other boat traffic. Be advised that there may be an abundance of aquatic vegetation during the late summer and fall months that may increase the difficulty of this paddle.
Plan to be at the boat ramp by 8:30am. We will have paddles in the water and leave the ramp at 9:00am. Bring the summer usual gear - boat, paddle, PFD, plenty of water and sunblock.
