About the event

WHAT:  Annual trail maintenance. (We have only missed two years since 1987. One was due to disruption of normal chapter activities during COVID year. The other time was last year, when we worked on the Buckeye Trail instead of the ABF.) Join us to keep the tradition going. Event is open to BCOS members and their guests.

WHEN: Saturday, March 9th. We'll begin work in the morning and be off the trail by late afternoon. Our traditional potluck dinner will be Saturday evening for all who want to join in (and I DO hope you will join us). NOTE: You will lose one hour sleep Saturday when we "spring forward" to daylight savings time.

WHERE: We will camp at Daisy State Park, located in Daisy, Arkansas (Hwy 70, 5 miles west of Kirby)

Daisy is a nice park that sits on Lake Greeson. I have always found facilities to be clean and park staff to be helpful. The park has tent sites, asphalt pad campsites with 30 and 50 amp + water hookups. A few sites are drive through. Kathy and I will be staying in Area E. I have reserved two yurts, and there are 10 beds available for anyone who wants to stay with us. IF YOU WANT TO STAY IN A YURT, EMAIL ME (kramerhill@suddenlink.net) AND LET ME KNOW HOW MANY BEDS YOU REQUIRE.

ALSO, you don't have to be on the trail Saturday to join us. You are more than welcome to just come up for a few days, hang out and do your own thing, then join us for meals and/or sit around the campfire. We usually have several folks who do this, and we would love to have you join us.

TO MAKE RESERVATIONS FOR TENT SITE OR FOR RV, best bet is to call the Park Office to get the most updated information (870-398-4487). You can also make reservations online at arkansasstateparks.com. As noted above, there will other logistical details at a later time, but feel free to call me (318-464-1114) or email me with any questions you may have.
